Contest Rules and Regulations 

The following describes the rules and regulations for the October/November 2005 “Fall '05 MBA Tuition Grant" Contest. Contestants must qualify to win by satisfying the terms, requirements and conditions set forth below:  

  • Persons defined by Park University as "continuing students" are not eligible.

  • This contest is subject to all federal, state and local laws and void where prohibited by law.

  • No purchase necessary.

  • One entry per person.

  • If winner is under 18 years of age, winner will need signed consent of parent or guardian on release form.

  • All entries must be mailed to The Kansas City Star, 1729 Grand Blvd. , Kansas City , MO 64108 or taken to the Park University Graduate Admissions office at the Downtown Kansas City Campus or The Kansas City Star. Online Registration is available at www.KansasCity.com.

  • Only official entry forms will be accepted. Entry forms are available at the Park University Graduate Admissions Office and The Kansas City Star (collectively known as the sponsors ). Online Registration is available at KansasCity.com . as well as in The Kansas City Star newspaper in a print campaign. No copies or reproductions of the form will be accepted.

  • All entries become the property of The Kansas City Star and will not be returned.

  • The sponsors and all agencies of record are not responsible for mutilated, illegible, misdirected, misdelivered, late, stolen, incorrect or incomplete entries. Entrants assume all risks of the same.

  • The sponsors' decision is final in all matters regarding entries.

  • This contest has one grand prizewinner. The grand prizewinner will receive a Tuition Grant good for ten graduate level courses at Park University . Employees and their families of Park University and The Kansas City Star, as well as their agencies of record are not eligible to win.

  • The award of tuition for ten graduate level courses at Park University is not transferable. It must be used by the person registered for the drawing and winning the drawing. The grant may be used for graduate courses only, taught in-class or Online, at the Park University Campus Center located in downtown Kansas City , MO. The tuition grant must, however, be used for course work completed no later than 12/31/07.

  • To be eligible for the tuition grant, the grand prizewinner must qualify for admission to Park University . (In the event the winner cannot qualify for admission to Park University within 90 days following notification of the award, a replacement winner will be drawn.)

  • “Tuition Grant” is considered a tuition credit that cannot be redeemed for cash or other considerations.

  • Odds of winning depend on the number of entries received. Winner will be selected from a drawing held at The Kansas City Star from entries received by the participating sponsors or by mail from October 16, 2005 through November 4, 2005 . To be eligible, entries must be received no later than the end of the business day, November 4, 2005 . The drawing will be held between November 7 and November 11, 2005

  • Park University will issue the grand prize.

  • The grand prizewinner assumes sole responsibility for all requirements and associated state, federal or other taxes.

  • The Prize must be claimed no later than December 30, 2005 . Prize is non-transferable and non-assignable. No other prize or cash substitutions will be made. Prize unclaimed after December 30, 2005 will be forfeited.

  • All federal, state or other tax liabilities arising from this contest are the responsibility of the winner and not the sponsors or any other agencies of record.

  • Winner agrees that the sponsors and their employees immediate families, parent affiliates or agencies shall not be liable for losses or injuries of any kind resulting from acceptance of and/or participation in prize and/or contest and will be required to execute forms releasing the sponsors and its subsidiaries and affiliates and their employees, directors, offers or agency of record from any and all liability prior to receiving any prize.

  • Winner's entry and acceptance of prize constitutes permission to use his or her name, photograph and likeness for purposes of advertising and promotion on behalf of the sponsors without compensation. Winner will sign a publicity release prior to the acceptance of prize.

  • The sponsors and all agencies of record reserve the right to make change

  • For identification and tracking purposes, this grant will be identified as CONTEST '05 v.3.

  • Rules are available at all participating sponsors' locations.
